My 2018 Bucket List

I’m not very good at making New Years resolutions (and sticking to them), but I do think that January is a great time to set some goals for the year. This year I’m actually writing them down for anyone to read, which is slightly unnerving for me, but here goes:-

Running

At Christmas, a relative told me that my blog name was “ambiguous”. Which was funny to me because when I started the blog I intended it to be about running. I had just had Sam and wasn’t ready to run yet (8 months later and I’m still not!) I thought I would ease into blogging by writing about the places I go with my children – which actually is a huge part of my life and I am enjoying sharing with you – but one of my goals for this year is to run 5km. They are starting a new parkrun event in my area so that seems like a good place to start.

Family

For those of you who don’t know me personally, I come from a big family. I have 3 brothers and 3 sisters that I grew up with (and twin half-brothers which I have introduced you to here and here). 3 of my siblings live in America with their families, and 1 in Denmark with his wife and 6 boys. Max is the only one of my children who has met all his cousins on my side of the family (16 cousins last time I counted).

This year we are very excited to be taking them to America to meet my family! We are going to fly into Los Angeles, then drive through Las Vegas to Salt Lake City, then to San Francisco via Reno, and back to Los Angeles. So between now and March I will be busy making plans.

UK Travel

I would like to check out the new Highway Rat Activity trail at a local forest.

I would like to spend some of the summer in Cornwall. Lazy beach days, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, the Minack Theatre, Lands End, and St Michael’s Mount.

Next Christmastime I would love to take the kids to Longleat Festival of Light. It looks absolutely magical and I think they would love it.

If we make it to Longleat, I’d definitely find time to see Stonehenge while we have the English Heritage passes.

Highclere Castle has been on my list for a few years now. Its not somewhere I want to take the children though. Maybe a picnic for 2 (plus baby) on the Highclere Grounds in the summer…?

While I’m on the subject of castles, we are going to go to Kenilworth Castle in the Spring.

I would love to visit Cliveden in the summer. It just looks stunning.

Thats it for now. I actually have nearly 400 places to visit pinned on my Google Map, and I hope to visit at least 25 of of them throughout this year.

Blog Goals

Just keep writing, and enjoying it. I would love to improve my photography skills and share more photos of the beautiful places we visit.

If you can think of anything I should add to my travel list for 2018, please let me know!
